Finally got a friend that I work with to trun to the 'white side'. He's now the proud owner of a 17" MacBookPro, and he's starting to enjoy it.

We have an issue though, we need to transfer all of his data from the PC over to OS X. Now presume we can do this and retain file structures for iPhoto etc.

BUT, what about email? We need to transfer all existing email over to Mail is OS X.

Is this possible, and how do we do it?
(I seem to recall Windows stores email files in some odd location?)

Otherwise I fear he'll just use Bootcamp more and more, which is of course defeating the object

All help greatfully appreciated

Which mac email client?

If its outlook (dont know if thats possible) then it should just be a case of moving the pst file over.

What program is he using for email?

PST file is what Outlook stores all the messages in.

Should be a case of using File>Export on the PC and File>Import on the Mac.

I've used Emailchemy too, sometimes worth it if there's a lot of mail.

It isn't, you'll need to get it into a .mbox format.

See my earlier post for instructions.
