disconnected water pipe?

Hi all,

On two of the four 500 engined Tivs I’ve owned, the water pipe which I assume goes to the connector just below the throttle position sensor (cant see where else it would reach) on the plenum, has been disconnected and plugged with a bolt. I’m guessing it heats the throttle assembly? Is there a reason for this and is this where the pipe goes before I reconnect it?

This is the plenum heater, not good for making power , heating the air coming in that is.
This is why people blank off/remove this feature.

So leave it disconnected then? I guess its for use in colder climates to stop icing? Need to make a tidy job of it though.

If you're fussy you can disconnect the far end of the hose and cap the spigot off instead, but a bolt in the end of the hose is the time-honoured way to blank it off. You should find a second similar hose leading back to the heater return pipe under the inlet manifold.
