Well the de-cats finally went on my own car today...the new owner has requested I put them on for him. How is that for irony? I didnt put a pair on my car as I presumed most buyers would prefer the car standard and it ends up going to a bloke who wants them on! Granted he had £40k of extras on the last Gt3 he owned, but whatever.

Anyway, the pt being...I couldnt stop grinning in the dealership when I heard my car being started up and revved a little inside the workshop and hearing it disappear down the lane. I was giggling. The noise hearing it drive off and bouncing around and then later as I drove home myself...it was everything *I* ever wanted the Sagaris to sound like.

Utterly, utterly mega chuffed all the way home. Fairly gutted I was selling her. Ive got the lil minx for one more week. If anybody hears anything extremely naughty sounding around Maidstone, Yalding and Paddock Wood that will be me

Giggling has now turned to outright manic laughter.

Just been out to the farm shop and run around some of our back roads here, so a chance to play some more.....oh boy! The noise higher up the range! I dont know how the rest of you drive, but my driving style has always been dbl de clutching and heel n toeing, blipping throttle etc. Blipping down from 4th to 3rd to 2nd now I send the revs up to 5k or so just to hear the air ripping and proper semi race car noise. Everytime back down through about 3k rpm you get the pops n bangs and exhuast gurgling away to itself
Absolutely magical.

The sound in the Sagaris has always been one of the slight disappointments to me, but I always attributed that to me being spoilt having come from a pre cat 4.3 Griff. Ive long regarded that as one of the greatest sounds mankind gets to hear on this earth. Now Ive got that same sensation back, it has that same feel of "THIS is what a sports should sound like" but with the more even nature of the straight 6 sound, as opposed to the slightly lumpy V8 sound.

Last night and this morning have put a smile on my face that as far as Im concerned is priceless. Its made the stress and cost of the last few months worth every damned penny because at about 4500rpm it all just melted away!

What's wrong with opening it up if it's properly warmed? Of all the people on here I think DJC is going to look after his car properly!

ever sold a car? if so, youll know that once youve sold it, its no longer your car. and that means a number of things change, most often the duty of care with which you would normally treat the vehicle.

im sure DJ is treating the car with the upmost respect, but then im a trusting person. other people might feel differently. perhaps even you would be slightly worried if you had paid a lot of money for something that the owner was still using, especially if it were by his own admission energetically.

In this instance those that know David well - including the buyer - will have no problems whatsoever from him having giggled his way around the back roads!
My Sagaris is with him in a couple of weeks for the same treatment, and I fully expect the car to have been road tested, and if he hasn't had a maniacal grin on his face and fits of giggles because the sheep are hopping up and down three miles away as he passes them during a "substantial" run he hasn't completed the job!!

Im not sure what to say Matt, other than your new de-catts work perfectly. The car has been driven 10 miles/20minutes up the road and back again to collect my shopping as it has done pretty much every Saturday for the last 12 months. Just enough time for me to be able to ensure the new pipes are working fine, sound fine, dont irritate and do exactly what they say on the tin. Tomorrow she goes back to the dealership to have the remainder of the work done.

Richard, given the nature of your association with TVR various, Im putting foam bumpers over every surface!
