Dear All,

I am new to the forum having only recently uncovered it.

Very active and packed with great advice.

I am looking to buy a 996 for up to £25-£30k.

I am not particularly fussed on model e.g. Coupe/Cabriolet, C2/C4 etc.

Ultimately, i want to get the best quality and best value car I can for my money so willing to be flexible.

I will be using the car as my daily commute.

I have read a number of guides and the engine oil leak/blow up issue frightens the life out of me. Because of this I am keen to source a car with a decent warranty or at least one that qualifies for an OPC warranty that I can buy.

My big question is pros/cons of tiptronic and anything I should look out for.

Any advice greatly, greatly appreciated !

Everyone to their own on triptronics, IMO i prefer manual, but i suppose for everyday traffic etc a trip is nice, you have to remember your audience will be smaller when you come to sell. Only solution is to drive both and make up your mind mate.driving

Don't let it, mostly internet hysteria.

Watch out, some warranties are worthless...

Get the one you like best and enjoy.
