Dear All,

Does anyone know what the rule are for Porsche to issue a warranty on a secondhand car.

I understand that:
1) The car has to be up to 9 years old and covered less than 100k miles
2) the car has to pass a 111 point inspection.

Are there any other rules ?

For example, all services by OPC and not independents, the car must not be imported, even if it is a UK spec C16 ?

All expert help appreciated.

The car doesnt have to be c16.Mine isnt. And it has warranty.
Its c32 cypress.makesno difference.
My C32 996 C4S was actually sold by an OPC so thats all bollox that they dont sell them.
They dont even ask if its got any service history or not.
They do it on cars upto 125,000 miles.
No the history afterwards doesnt have to be OPC or indepndents or anyone really, they dont ask.
If they engine blew during warranty period they probably would ask when did you last service it but not for other bits and pieces breakdowns.

Less than 125,000 miles. Less than 9 year sold.

If it passes 111 point then it can have the warranty.

What has gone before in terms of maintenance etc is not relevant as long as it passes.

OPC's vary from one to another. One may ask to check your service history record to ensure you car has been maintained within the manufacturer's guidelines and that you have used official porsche parts etc. Others won't. If you get turned down by one, I would try another.

Most of the time, they are more interested in getting 900 of your notes.

No. Hartech do a combined warranty/service deal... worth checking out for cars 9+ years!

Interesting replies.

It appears that history is not important for an OPC to issue a warranty.
This therefore means that the real question is...

If the engine blew up, would the OPC then want to see a full history from an OPC or will they willingly replace the engine under warranty, no questions asked ?
