My rear wiper makes a terrible racket when operated and sounds like it is about to crack the glass! I changed the blade about 6 weeks ago and noticed that there was a small crack on the wiper arm. Is this the reason why? is this a common easy to fix problem?

Might be a fundamental possibility!
Doddle to change.

These are known to crack.

When mine cracked, i took the opportunity to get rid of the whole rear wiper thing. Theres a DIY on this on p-car.com.

It made the rear of the car look very clean and 911 like. And saved a teeny bit of weight (removal of wiper motor) in the process.

Parts were v cheap from the opc.

Cheers

Ajit.

If it's the arm, they are quite hard to get from breakers as they do go on occasion. About £110 inc VAT from OPC.

Be careful, although there is only one part number now for the 964/993, early 964 ones won't fit a 993 with high level brake light as they are too long.

If it's the motor, there were a couple of motors going on ebay just the other week.

Best of luck.
