Hmm, I've found a couple of irritating problems that aren't covered by the bible and I can't find via search in here so would appreciate any ideas guys:

- Wipers don't work on intermittent - I guess it could be the relay, but any othere ideas?
- Wipers don't park - I've read the park switch bit on chimaerapages, but is it likely to be anything else?
- Washers don't work, pump runs but all I get is a pool of water under the car at the passenger side footwell (drips off the exhaust pipe) but it doesn't seem wet inside the car. How do the washer pipes route?
- The plastic fitting for the washers that plugs into the perforated grille below the windscreen has snapped - anyone know where can i get another?

Also, does anyone have a photo of how the washer pipes/clips fit along the windscreen wiper arms - my clips seem to foul the wiper blade itself so it doesn't sit right on the screen, but changing it made the small holes point away from the screen.........

I discovered this when driving hiome on Friday with spray being kicked up, so made journey unpleasant. All help gratefully recieved.

Proble 1 and 2 is park switch dead. This causes this to happen. If you keep it like this it will start blowing to wiper fuse regularly.

3 + 4 are probably related. get the Leven wiper kit and it will sort out stuff.

Thanks Chris, I'll get a new park switch and put it on.

I'd looked at the Leven solution but right now the water doesn't even reach those pipes, hence the pool of water on the ground

Hi Konrod,
I had the problem with the water not getting to the screen jets.
There is a T piece between the two wipers that the pipe from the bottle/pump feeds. Unfortunately it's rather inaccessible. As I understand it you have to take off the top of the dash and there's a small hole through which you can get at it.
I was lucky that mine went when the car was under used car warranty.
You say about the pipe that fits in the grille being broken, its not the pipe that feeds onto this that's fallen off is it?
No idea where you'd get one, TVR car parts?
At the end of the day its only a connector to join the two pipes, you should be able to get a straight connector from Halfords and fix it in the hole with black silicon if you can't get the genuine article.
I agree with what has been said about the Leven kit, see my post with pics on the thread above this. Didn't realise how bad my wipers/washers were until I fitted the Leven kit, easy to fit too

Not all cars have said hole, until you make it. IIRC some advise making it from the engine bay instead of the dash. There have been plenty of threads on the Chim & Griff pages here that have the various methods described.

I had the problem of the washer jets having fallen through the black grille.

I just brought 4m of washer tubing and a couple of jets, drilled 2 small holes in the grille for the jets and ran the tube up under the air hose.
Now i have got high pressure jets that actually do something!!!

Half hour job compared to taking your dash off and cutting holes in the bulkhead!!!

I'm afraid what you think is a dead easy job is in fact a right load of grief! Cut an access hole behind the drivers side rocker cover is the easiest solution, i've seen this done.

Hmmmm, sounds like a job. The bit I can't understand is if the pipes are behind the black panel (below the drilled panel), how is the water appearing on the floor without the inside of the car getting wet, or have I missed something?

Sounds to me like the best approach may be to run completly new pipes and new jets mounted directly on the drilled panel.....

Thats what i did...half hour job...max...run the pipe along the same route as the air fliter hose...under the airflow meter and under the wiper motor...2 small jet on the black grille and away you go!!!
Then you can lose the rubber tube on the windscreen wipers and blank the existing hole off with some rubber gromets.

Your wiper park and wiper intermittent could also be the relay.
I had the same symptoms on the Griff because the relay had dropped out.
Have you checked the relay is still there and properly pushed home?

When mine started p*ssing water all over the place I was about to go away for a short break with the car, TVR dealer couldn't get it done for me.
I ran pipe from the pump fixed to the air intake pipe with cable ties.
Very difficult to drill the perforated grill to fit the jets, if I did it again I would use a Dremel (I don't have one) to careful grind the holes.
It's difficult to decide where to put jets. I was about to drill a hole and realised that the bonnet edge would sit on the jet and so would not close!
The result that I finished up with was not very good, with the wiper arms interrupting the jets of water when they were in operation.
I would suggest that anyone thinking to go this route looks at another car with it fitted and makes a couple of paper templates of the jet positions.
I got mine fixed properly under warranty on my return, but I still have the extra jets there to fill up the holes I made and for future use if the proper system fails again.
And no, you can't fit a "T" piece and have both systems working, tried that and the pump's not man enough
