This may sound like a strange question, but bear with me !

I fancied a new 'baby' and as I'm a responsible* kinda guy, I thought I'd get some prices on insurance first. (*influenced by the wife... long story)

I just had a quote from a major UK insurer for a 1992 Diablo 2wd, and it came out at £3700. That might sound like alot to the more seasoned motorists, but I'm only 28.... and that price is a hell of a lot cheaper than my TVR.... nearly £800 cheaper.

So, a £48,000 Lambo is cheaper to insure than a £20,000 TVR. Is there something about Lambo's that make them reletivley cheap to insure, or did I just get lucky?

Sounds pretty good. Could be because lambo's tend to be driven less so annual mileage would tend to be lower (unless your Simon of course)

Lot of Lambo owners have got insurance through Knowles & Richards who seem to be able to get good deals.

Yea Nowell & Richards have always been excellent and don't thankfully take into account annual mileage on most policies. Mine is with Zurich private clients through them. N & R are on 01785 255514

4500 for tvr?

do you have 5 dangerous driving convictions, 2 drink drive convictions and 3 fault accident claims or something?

1500 would be more like it, if not less...

Cheers for the advice.... I'll be sure to do some looking around. I also need to look at servicing costs... and tyres :-(

Still I can't grumble at costs, if you want quality, you have to pay the price.

I was also tempted to look at a nice GT car, such as a Maserati 4200 or Ferrari 456, they maybe less exciting, but a hell of a lot more practical.

In saying that, if I don't take the wife out with me, I can get my golf clubs into the passenger seat of a diablo !
