Ohhhhh myyyyyy goddddd i finally picked up my tuscan this weekend and drove her back from twickenham to cornwall. What can i say.... what a car ....Still running in new engine.done 350miles now keeping under 3000rpm. Even under 3000 rpm the power is incredable and the noise is just great. Its got a few stone chips on her but other than that its fantastic. Its saphire black with portland leather total of 10350k on the clock 350k on new engine built aug 06.
Any tips out there on running her in and also whos good at body work want to get those stone chips sorted, do i get full re spray or a touch up.

Welcome to the fold - sounds like another great car!

I think different folks have different views on running-in.

I followed strict dealer instructions and didn't go over 3k revs until 1k miles, and then gradually increased revs, not using full revs until around 6k miles, and engine feels strong now. But, as I say, others will disagree, and I'm not sure there is a consensus.

Welcome to the club

The advice I was given is to aviod long motorway journeys and make plenty of changes to take the engine through the range of rpm.

Advice I was given was to keep revs below 3000 till 1000 miles then red line her through the gears every so often to get her really going....also keep below 2000 until oil temp up to 60. Enjoy

Best hope your warm-up route doesn't involve any NSL roads. 2000 rpm equates to about 50mph

the manual says
0 to 250 miles keep below 3000 rpm

250 to 500 take revs higher in higher gears but not low gears

500 to 1000 revs give full revs

Is this correct ???

Also should i keep to using the same fuel im using shell optimax which is what the previous owner was using
