Odd oil stains on car. 996TT.
Discussion
Returned home last Thursday, parked up & noticed what looked like oil spattered down both the sides of the car. Seems to start around the drivers door & ends just on the flared rump over the back wheels on both sides. There was a little on the back of the car too, above the numberplate.
So not really a lot on either the sides or the rear but enough to get me a little worried.
Checked the engine, clean as a whistle and checked under the car yesterday (so had been standing for 3 days) & not a drop of oil under the car. The car runs perfect & the oil level pressure is fine. Perhaps I drove through some oil on the road or something?

Maybe worth jacking the car up and taking the undertray off from beneath the engine? This collects oil drips from the engine and stops them ending up on the floor. The oil then gets picked up off the undertray by the air whirling around when you're at speed and you then find it on the bodywork.
Having said that, when this happened to me (leaky cam cover) the oil distributed itself more on the arse end of the car after a fast blast - I wouldn't expect to see it as far forward as by the driver's door.
Wash it off, check car oil level, take it for a blast and see if it happens again?
