I have just linked up to XBox Live and wondered how I got online with my old PS2.
I have a phase 2 silver PS2 with integral IR reciever for the remote.
Am I right in thinking that it's only the skinny PS2 that has an ethernet port?
What do I need to get online?

PGR3 online rocks!

There is no equivalent to xbox live on the ps2, so its done per game and can be different depending on the game. The slimline ps2 comes with an ethernet port, you'll need the sony network setup disk to make a configuration file on your memory card so it knows how to connect to your network.

PS2 network card. My mate had to track one down to play TOCA Race driver last year, and found that ebay and amazon marketplace were the easiest places to find them, but I see that they are asking nearly £40 for them on Amazon now, which is ridiculous. I'll see what he wants for his, if you like, as we don't play toca any more.

I just checked out fleabay and saw a network card bundled with a 250Gb Hard drive, but I dont want a had drivel.
looks like £40 is the going rate for a new adaptor.
I could of course get a new ps2 for £99 and give the silver to the kids.
