Chaps

Does anyone know to what torque rate I should tighten the main wishbone bolts to ?? and also the wishbone/top ball joint/camber setting bolts ??

They were very tight to remove but after fitting the new poly bushes I feel that if I do them up the same they are compressed aganst the bush and the wishbone becomes quite stiff to move, is this ok ??

Cheers for any advice.

not sure what the actual torque figures should be, but don't forget you shouldn't torque the bolts up until the car is sitting properly on it's suspension.

sorry if i'm teaching you to suck eggs, but have met lots of people in the past who were unaware of this.

Have you checked in the 'Bible'?

The inner sleeve of the bush needs to move relative to the pivot bolt as the suspension moves. If you do the bolt up tight so the inner sleeve of the bush is clamped tight, the suspension movement tries to rip the bush apart. The bolt should have a stiff nut which ensures it can't come undone, and it should only be tight enough to take out the play between the bush and the mounting flanges. Same goes for the damper mounts. (If you have rod end bearings instead of bushes, you can do the bolts up tight to clamp the bearing to the chassis.)
