Bonnet holder - bit with hole in and pull down piece

This is the bit that you slide back to get the bonnet off. It has a hole which the bonnet fits into and a piece which you slide back which keep tyhe bonnet from popping out. One of mine has broken (side piece at the top)so I want to replace both sides.
Assume these'll be easy to find? Not.

Are you talking about a part of the hinge mechanism, or the rollers at the front end of the bonnet Paul?
I can't visualise the bit you're on about.

Do you mean the ball of the ball joint? I'd try a model/kit shop. Some of the more substantial radio controlled models use balljoints very similar to that.

The hinge mechanism. It it the bit on the hinge that you can adjust, not the ball but the bit that acceptes the ball, ie a hole. It screws onto the thread of the hinge.

I found a posting about that some time ago:

"The bonnet catch assembly for a griff, the one bolted to the body just below the windscreen, is from a MK 1 or MK 2 Ford Fiesta from 1978 - 1988. The part number is 77FB-16700AF. It costs £18.40 including VAT from any Ford dealer."

I have no idea if this is correct.

Not really ever had a close look at mine, but that really is a top class peice of engineering, by TVR!

No wonder the gelcoat crazes around that area!!!

I sometimes wonder why I don't just get the mecano and papermache kits out and build my self another one
