Graphix problem urgent

Hi all

My sons pc has started up with roughly half the screen missing the xp start button is in the middle the right hand side is off the screen and the left 3/8ths is blank the TFT "signal graphic" comes up dead square in the middle . it is a prety new system intel 3000 with 1 gig ram and pc express radion graphics card . any ideas ?????

There's nearly allways an auto-adjust function on the monitor, or sometimes you just have to turn the screen off and on again. Failing that, right click on desktop/properties/settings/advanced and see if there are any sections in there to move the picture around.

just turned it on again after a cooling off period and it seems fine. We had tried all the ajustments we could think of and it all worked as it should but still the left of the screen was blank it just moved it around on the right will keep you posted on developments . thanks very much for taking the time to reply

Hmm. Does the card have TV out? Can you get it to a TV if it does? If not, do you have a spare monitor?

It's just the picture going odd like that could be the monitor more than the card.

No TV out but yes I've got a spare monitor if it happens again . thanks
