We have about six trips to Companies House in Cardiff booked for tommorrow, one of our customers has just phoned to ask if our drivers will cross the picket line of strikers as there will be an official strike tommorrow.

Does anyone know if this is so and whether or not they are usually militant/ likely to respond badly to our drivers?

Thanks
Nick

We have had warnings about a strike across the civil service that will be affecting the land registry so I guess that it will affect CoHo as well

They should be able to explain the position on their enquiries line

It's the PCS strike action. It's likely that the London office will be shut, but the other offices will just have a picket line.

Bit more info: there is a rally in Cardiff at noon, so presumably most strikers will be at that, with a small contingent at Companies House door.

I think a strike made up of Companies House pencil pushers will be about the tamest one theoretically possible!

Will we notice a difference ? Might even run more smoothly.

They managed to lose my accounts, issue a fine and then a few months later I read in the Telegraph that this was a common occurrence.

My GF works for HMRC, she had to nip[ into the office this morning to pick up a traders records. There was a picket line, which she drove straight past. All very civilised. So I have taken it upon myself to call her a "SCAB" when she gets back.

The ones striking outside the city centre job centre by my office have gone so must be at CH by now. There's police outside the office with someone being bundled into a car so it looks like they got one of 'em!

There's a picket line outside my office in Leeds. Except it's cold outside, so the protesters are sat at their desks, pointedly *not* working. Can't say I've actually noticed the difference

Strike is a reality. 31 Jan... Tax returns due - no one home... penalties because HMRC are closed on deadline day... Oh Yes!
