Has anyone heard of any problems with the above.
My Father in-law upgraded to AOL broadband which was working perfectly and then each time he tries to use Avast4Home it falls over?
Not got any specifics yet I'm going to get him to try AVG instead to see if that does the same.

I have never used AOL but I did use Avast for a while as it was one of the very few Anti-Virus products that worked with Windows x64. I gave up with it pretty quickly as it was unreliable and allowed through 2 viruses that I had to remove manually after much research and tinkering. It also performs extremely poorly in side-by-side lab comparisons.

My attitude to Anti-Virus software is that I'll get the best as the cost is so small compared with the huge inconvenience and frustration of having to potentially start from scratch.

AVG seemed to fix it.
Linky if anyone's interested
Click on the link "AVG Anti-Virus Free"

I've not had a problem with Avast before and I think this is more to do with AOL TBH.
I moved away from the pay software because of problems and life has been a lot better since
Thanks anyway.
Any views which is better AVG vs Avast?

I also junked Avast for AVG after getting a couple of Virii. Most annoying as one of them had been in the open for 18 months & AVG spotted & killed it on first run.
