18" Spyder Wheels for 4 studs?
Discussion
All TVRs (post 2001) seem to be coming out of the factory wearing those nice 18inch Spyder alloys.
These alloys are not available for the Chimaera or Griffith, yet the Cerbera on the other hand has been blessed with the new alloys which has made a significant difference to it's appearance.
Surely the second hand market for TVRs has to be huge and what better and cheaper way to keep your 'loved one' up-to-date, without going under the surgeons knife.
Does anyone know why, if any, are the reasons why HQ have not thought about making them available in 4stud for Chimaera's and Griffith's?

I thought Leven had developed a means to fit 16" spiders to Griffs and Chims. I'm wondering if the same kit would allow 18" spiders to be fitted, assuming you could get hold of some.

Cheers,

If you ever do Pete - I'll take your 17" fronts off you as spares for mine! with a suitable amount of beer tokens exchanging hands in your direction.

Rich... Isn't someone quoted in Sprint this month as saying It can't be done without having to change loads of the running gear and turning the steering rack upside down, just goes to show to shouldn't believe everything you read
only joking RichB it just needed a bit of lateral thinking and good engineering.
only joking RichB it just needed a bit of lateral thinking and good engineering. That's right a bit of decent engineering eh Mel? What I discussed with Neill was changing the hubs for Cerbera ones, and this, of course, involved changing certain suspension components. The Griff uses ford stuff whereas TVR make their own on the Cerbie. The front suspension uprights are (I belive Granada) and on Neill's car he needed to re-locate the rack in the chassis in order to get the track rods to locate ok onto the Cerbera steering arms. At the time it all seemed very complicated. I suppose I could have just re-drilled and tapped the existing hubs
But then I would have needed a decent engineering company to do that... perhaps like Leven? Rich...

Rich...Those 16 inch Tamora spider cast off's look worse than any chimera / griff wheel so far - would beok in 17 or 18 but i6 just looks as crap as the Tamora looked with them. 15's and 16 Griff wheels best if getting from TVR or 16 / 16 (late Griff 100) if you can handle to lack of lock and heavier steering!
