London Thunder - record or not?

One of the big deals with London Thunder was that it was going to qualify for the Guinness book of records etc.. And I seem to recall on here that we were told it had. Large gins all round as I recall.

Now the Lotus boys are claiming that they broke the record with 313 cars at Brands Hatch the other day. What's the deal?

The Lotus ppl are saying the convoy has to be constant for 2 miles with no more than 2 car lengths between cars?
