Xbox live stopped working all of a sudden

ok weird one.

Live fine at lunch, tried to sign in just now and it kept failing, did the test and it stated DNS problem. Well settings correct, and im doing fine from here???

The only thing different i did was sign into the xbox.com site with my gamertag - though i didnt input a serial number for the xbox, though I doubt thats the problem!

anyone care to shed some light on this?

No idea, try figuring out whether its your gamertag or console that won't work. Sounds like your console though. Maybe reset your router if you have one? Oh and enter the MAC address of your console if thats at all possible.

okay, I'll reboot the router and see what happens...

its the first time ive had any issues, I just dont know whether its live, the connection or the gamertag...

I assumed it may have something to do with logging into xbox.com, just because thats the only thing thats changed.

rebooting the router seemed to sort it.
