Do these give better performance or smoother acceleration.

Or is the only advantage that they last longer?

I expect that any differences would only be detectable if the ones being replaced had degraded.

I too have just had them fitted. It was like a new car as soon as i put my foot down. Mind you, one of the old ones was burnt right through on the manifold and i had been driving it like that for a week or so

It's a performance car - if money permits, go for the performance leads.
