Hi all

Yet again have been on the Stag 2 hours trying to work out what is the problem as why i am not getting any spark from the ht LEAD. Today i put a bran new coil as well as a new HT lead . She just turns over and over not firing up at all . got a tester and it shows that there is power going to the coil and have checked any loose wires around but i cant find any faults . HELP

Here is a small video clip of the engine not starting have a look please

If you have 12V at the coil you need to check the dizzy is switching, is it points?
If it is then they should ground to earth everytime they close, check with a meter. I normally find on points they've been wrongly installed & are either shorted to ground all the time or not closing at all.

Is it a distributorless ignition system though?

It could be a faulty rotor arm - there are a lot of these affecting TRs at the moment. Distributor Doctor are the people who can help.

Check the earthing on the electronic ignition module - sometimes they have a seperate feed to the earth on the battery and if you don't connect that up, you'll be going nowhere.

Failing that, if its the ingnition module itself, you may want to stick a set of points and condenser in and skip the electronic ignition to determine if the unit is shot.

What sort of electronic ignition do you have? Luminition or Aldon or something else?

Cheers

Rob
