Ftp'ing a changes css

I downloaded a Stylesheet from my site edited and then tried to FTP it back on teh site and it wont let me? same name etc I have just changed the width of some things.

Anyone know why it possibly wont upload? Can do other files, jpegs htmls etc ok.

potentially may not have the correct access rights on the file itself, enough to download but not enough to replace..

Have you got some form of control panel access to your webspace that you can use to check the permissions?

Yes I have will, With the big one in the corner up there ^^^^^^^,

forgot the guy I use buys his space etc of Jamie and no I dont have a control panel with them.

check you permissions, sounds like you have read access to the file but not write access.

Just a thought..

what FTP software are you using? If you have a nice drag and drop interface, right click on the file you are trying to replace and select the option for permissions (if it exists).. at this point you should be able to change the permissions on the file (as long as you have got to this point and have the required permissions to change the permissions!!!)

If you've got that far, change them so that you can write and delete the file (don't go full blown 777, it's not required!) and upload your new one..

That might just work..

WS FTP LE cant find anywhere about permissions. Its not just read only as i can upload download jpegs,mpegs etc etc. So i guess ther must be somewhere about permissions.

Hi Dave, No I think I have it.

The guy who helps me with the site probably knows how to do it better than me but he's not about atm so will try and sort it out tomorrow.
