Anyone who managed to get this downloaded and play, PLEASE don't use the uninstall feature as the beta ends on Sunday and you may well be tempted to remove it...

There is a problem where it deletes all root files on C drive except those hidden or system files.

My boot.ini has gone and several others. My PC still works/boots but who knows what it's really done, might be lots of files missing left right and centre when I have a proper look!?

Worrying if thousands of DVD's are already printed and ready to go with this dodgy uninstaller on!

Thanks for the heads up.

I have downloaded and installed it but couldn't get a key to use the bloody thing. Is it ok remove it using windows or third party software?

Why are they releasing it as a beta one month before official release anyway, they should have a full working demo by this point, no??

Well it was more a server test for them, they needed thousands of clients to test it out.

No doubt the thousands of DVD's going into boxes right now will be being opened up and binned because of this blindingly obvious flaw in the product.

Makes you worry if they let this through what else is wrong with it.

Bad PR or what? Thousands of gamers out their have/will probably be rogering their families system any day now!

Are you 100% sure that it wasn a virus or something else ?

An uninstall will rarely if EVER do something like that.
Did you download it from a torrent or from fileplanet ?

Fileplanet.

The private beta test forum for the users have it as a sticky thread right now.

I just thought since I mentioned the beta test here and some people may not have registered and visited those forums, along with no email being sent to users from the distributors, I thought I'd best pass the word...

Ah yeah I actually forgot to use those forums, I didnt pay any attention to the email because the code came up before the mail.

What are they saying about it ?

A mod or two said they'd pass it on.

Happened to about 5 or 6 users from what I can see so far. Though who is uninstalling it to see when they have 2 days left to play it for free

Then again a few people said they tried it and saw no change, but I have lost a few files and others have, with installs on C drive and other drives.
Either way I wouldn't be risking using the uninstaller. Delete the folders then use regcleaner or something!?

Something has just happened to my PC but I havent uninstalled anything.
When it boots it says:

(I think).

Dont tell me its another master boot record thats fkd up.
It will be the 3rd HD in one year.

Just found this pasge:
www.anetforums.com/posts.aspx?ThreadIndex=10606

Which basically is saying dont worry easily solved but it does sound like some weird problem I seem to have every now and then.
