I noticed a few of us have the xbox poker (yes, yes, i know its pretend money, thats how i like it) so wondered if we should try and arrange a PH 'poker-night', get a online room and as many of us in as possible - low stakes for us newbies (say 100/500)..

Who'd be up for it?

I'm very lucky, I enjoy gambling for entertainment, but i hate losing money, so I'd hopefully not get hooked on it due to huge losses I would make...

On a side point, I have a Texas Hold Em kit here, so we could always have a real 'poker night', if we could get a few of us together down this end of the world...

The problem with "schooling noobs" at poker is that noobs don't actually know when to stop calling or which hands to play so you never know if you've got them beat or not.

In the long run they're going to lose but they can always get lucky and you just can't put them on a hand.

But, yes, I'd be up for an XBox Poker PH Challenge.

Very true, which is why you hang back til you have your quality hands, get to see the flop nice and cheap and provided you hit it you can make a mint, otherwise you sit back and watch them knock each other out.

But Rich - unless we get a complete newb, I think GI and me have played enough to have a basic understanding of how to play

Could always just take over a room on one of the PC rooms instead to save people buying the xbox copy

dont the PC rooms require playing with real cash though?

and i'd be up to make it a regular thing Rob... the single player mode isnt too bad either, but theres nothing like a bit of 'real players' to make it more interesting!

Nah most of the PC rooms all have play money tables, plus there is often an option to setup a private room.

I'd be up for this. Again will have to buy the thing but that shouldn't be too big of an issue. The downside of a pc game is that we wouldn't get all the banter.
