Orange Broadband

Got a bit of a strange problem. Have a pc with broadband modem, ISP is orange. Connects ok or seems to (tried using ping etc). But when using Internet Explorer to open a web page clicking on any links or sites doesn't do anything? Thught it might be TCP/IP or browser but take PC to friends house all works ok. Google works and returns a search but nothing else

Any ideas>?
