Had my 3200GT for almost 6 months now and enjoying the every minute, even with the quirks!
However, in last 2 weeks I've had two instances when starting up where the Rev's seemed to limit themselves to 1000 / 1500 RPM with the Throttle having no effect when pressed? I turned it off and restarted and all was fine.

Any reason for this? I'll be taking it in to the garage, should I expect a big bill?

i get this every now and then though the "check engine" light will come on to accompany this. revs are limited to 2500rpm IIRC?

I'm taking delivery of a 3200gt on Wednesday and when I first drove the car this happened. The engine light came on and the car struggled to rev past 3000rpm. The next day the dealer started the car to carry out a cam change and annual service and the light was out and the car was OK again. When they serviced the car the two back boxes had collapsed so they replaced it with a sports exhaust but could not find anything else wrong.

Seems to be a bit of an epidemic at the moment, same problem here, the engine light luminates car revs to 1500 rpm and thats it, switch off and restart and althought the light is still on the engine revs ok. It first did this during a spirited session at Bruntingthorpe and it has happened once or twice since so I will try to get it into the dealers this week to sort it once and for all as the last occurence was at the end of a short slip road onto a busy trunk road ( luckily a passing police car came pulled over and followed me at a crawl until it was safe to stop)

Just had mine fixed at Lancasters, the "check engine" light had extinguished by the time it got to the workshop but the memory showed a fault with the turbocharger pressure sensor(s), these were changed and it is fine now. Total cost including VAT was £313 which is half of what I paid for a service and radiator for my Alfa GTA so pretty good in my opinion with the added bonus that as usual they gave it a good wash and valet.

Evening all ,

Had this happen a few times , it was the throttle potentiometer ( a bosch component ) mounting at the top of the throttle pedal , took it off and cleaned connections and sprayed WD inside and it appears to have done the trick - this was several months ago . I think this component suffers from "lack of use" syndrome , hopefully now winter,s over this should not be a problem.
