Thanks Dickymint, the problem is a dead V8 at the moment, it will occasionally try to fire on first cranking (cold start device operating) once this 'times' out their is nothing, have been through the efi pdf and conducted the full series of diagnostic checks.
The ignition system, dizzy, coil and spark plugs are all ok.
The resistor pack is operational 6ohms across all of the injector terminals, the injectors all have a 2.7 ohm resistance and receive 12.5v at standing with ignition on, dropping to 8.7v on cranking. the ignition module is sending info to the ecu, the fuel pump is running ok and their is plenty of pressure on the fuel rail.
I have checked the operation of the maf unit and it would now seem that this is possibly where the problem is, a very high resistance reading compared to what the pdf states, so if I am interpreting it correctly the ecu is not receiving the correct info and therefore the injector voltage is not dropping to the 3v required to open the injectors.
