2006 vs 2001 engine

I have being told that an engine from 2006 in a tuscan would be better than a 2001, i was just wondering what the difference is between the two, if there is any???? thanks

Supposedly more reliability and better build quality, however only the test of time and 20,000 miles will tell. My 04 S needed a topend rebuild after 8k so more recent engines do still have their probs although i believe they are much less frequent from the threads on here.

In terms of power, 2003/04 are generally thought of as more powerful, so an 06 is gonna be somewhere in the middle.
