Title says it all really. A friend of mine has an old P2 350Mhz with 32MB of RAM, and as you would expect compared to todays computers it is slow. But the only reason she uses it, is for web browsing and a bit a word processing. Being on a budget it would be cheaper to up the memory to 128MB or 256MB, but i can't remember what memory was used with these chips. The motherboard uses a 440BX chipset and that's all i know. Also she is 150miles down the road so it's not as if i can just pop around.
Any ideas would be great, btw i thought about the crucial system scan, but having dial up it would take a while to download.
cheers

That will tell you. I'm guessing it'll take either 66mhz sdram, or perhaps the older stuff, edo was it? Both of which will not be cheap...

Probably a stick or 2 of PC100 or PC133 SDRAM

Possibly PC-100 SDRAM. So getting a couple of sticks of PC-133 and you should be fine. Of course it could be PC66 or some other 5v module which will be a swine to track down.

hmmm i think that MOM miht have a point. For the cost of a couple of stick of 128MB i could tell her to buy a P3 800Mhz with 64MB and a 10GB hard drive. Laterial thinking there, thanks.
Also thanks for the input of what type of memory it is. It seems to be the 66MHz flavour, so it's going to be even harder to track down!
Cheers beer

the 350 was the first 100 MHz fsb PII, so it uses PC100 SDRAM. PC133 wil work fine. PC66 will slow it down (even further!).
