Firstly, an excellent site, well done!!

An an Australian, I have been lucky enough to drive as few HSV's in my time, however, I am not at a stage where I am able to start looking round at a possible purchase. The main question is, do I travel to Oz and bring one back with me, or do I purchase here in the UK? Does anyone know of any good importers websites in the UK that I can contact? Or does anyone here know of anyone who can do it or anywhere I can actively search for a used one?

Thanks in advance...

Apparently you have to own a car in Aus for 6 months before you bring it over if you want to avoid UK taxes.

Looking for a Commodore of some description, or a Monaro....

Had a look at Picador's site and will make contact with them.

Mind you , I also fancy a Maloo R8 as well!!!

It is actually really stupid here... you can pick up a 2004 monaro much cheaper here, than you can back home. Some are around the £13-14K which is just stupid amount of money. And there appear to be heaps of them as well. Was quiet shocked to see how many of them were up for sale.

No less than £16000 on PH classifies.

I 've put some work into this idea and found that the Monaro is significantly cheaper over here than in Aus. The SVA regulations in the UK effectivly scupper the idea. My advice is don't waste your time.

Is it me or did your post state you are not looking for a car, and if so, what is the question? confused
