Ferrari 250 GTO rendering.........new Griff?
Discussion
Here (Hopefully posted), is a design I have just done for a new Ferrari 250 GTO, was wondering what a TVR - like one would look like, this was done as a MODERN EVO version of the original 250 car (My favourite), using the DNA features, might have to get craqcking on the Griffith now!
Any comments?

I must admit the Griffith coupe design although you class it as an old concept, still looks rather fresh today albeit now it bares a striking resemblance to the T350, but I think with subtle revision you oculd have an absolute corker on your hands
Ive just been piddling about with another Cerbera...gonna post it on the Cerbera thread for Combover

Nope. Doesnt work.
You are overcomplicating the lines and design direction. You have too many clues and nods to this and that, the whole look is just far too busy. You have curves here, straight lines there, angles and slants here and there.
Your earlier Griff coupe design was much more cohesive.

What is your problem at the moment DJC? Every thread I read at the moment you are dissing people's ideas.
Nice work Nick - (I really like the Ferrari based one - is that wrong)

No, Ive just dismissed stuff over the past month that has been a pile of wank. Nick's drawing above doesnt work, his earlier drawing of the Griff coupe does work.

A bit harsh DJC.
I agree the drawing has a lot going on, but as Nick says, I'm certain it will make more sense as a model.
Modern designs need surface detail to make them look finished. This will often make a the rendering look a crowed. I think the topside flank and wing surfaces would be sensational under sharp, high meditaranian sunlight... always a consideration with Ferraris.
If the design is too simple/elegant, it may look classic/retro. Look at the Alfa 8C. BTW That would be a great candidate for a new Grif' IMO, with a rear end restyle. The back is way to "seen it all before" Zagato. It's hardly cuttling edge.
For me the drawing is more 275GTB/4 than 250GTO. The mouth nis too wide and pulled and the eyes too big. The GTO was dainty with a feline nose and a pouting mouth. The drawings are too sharky and much more GTB. It could do with a few more inces between the front of the door and front arch to convince the viewer there is room under bonnet for a proper V12 to lurk near the centre of the car.
I have to say I don't really like the side glass graphic or roof line. It has that Konigsegg, Nobel M15, Toyota FT-HS flat-cap look that raises the visual weight of the car, destroys poise and interior ambience. Just looks a little heavey handed.
The cut-down rocket sled hook of the Cerbera was far more elegant and timeless, and with some tweaking it must be the way to go on any future FHC TVR.
Keep it up Nick, it's good see intresting people put up intresting work.
