I've had my 2000 Tuscan since december 15th and everything has been fantastic!!!
Until yesterday, when all of a sudden while sitting at a T junction (In 1st with the clutch in) the car started to creep forward and with my foot on the brake she eventually stalled. Into neutral and started up no problem. No traffic so into 1st and away but the clutch felt soft. Came to the next junction and did the same thing but more severe and this time there was no pressure on the clutch. I was only 1/2 mile from home so started her up in 1st and drove very steadily home. when i got out and had a look there was clear oil underneath where the clutch goes in to the gearbox.

I am hoping the warranty from HHC sorts it out!!!!!

Could this be just seal or master cylinder that has died?
Or, could it be more serious??

Sounds like the slave cylinder seal has gone.

I had this done on my previous Tuscan & both the slave cylinder and seal was replaced, some just replace the seal, but you often find wear in the slave cylinder and if only the seal is changed has a limited life.To access these the gearbox has to be removed.

Time wise seems to depend where you go, but my dealer in Belgium did this in < 1day. Total cost was approx £450.

Neville

Sorry to hear of your clutch problem, may be worth having a chat to HHC.

Already have they are picking the car up tomorrow.
I'm hoping, because it has a 12 month TVR approved warranty that the work will be getting done for nothing!!
But time will tell.
This will test the TVR Warranty viability...

I would strongly recommend that you ask the clutch to be upgraded to one of these and pay the difference.

If not get them to at least replace the entire slave cylinder assembly and the diaphragm spring at the same time. These are the two known clutch premature failure points.

The brake lights could well be down to the micro switch on the pedal box. I had to repair mine with epoxy a while ago as it's just a crappy plastic part.

Just had confirmation from HHC that the problem is the slave cylinder and that the warranty company will pay the full cost of the repair.
