Hi there

My Chimera oil pressure sits at about '30' when driving, but drops to just above '10' when idling. While this is within the limits documented in the manual, does anyone know of a way to increase oil pressure? Like a uprated pump or something?

Or ensure your using at least 5w50, 10w50 or 20w50 even 20w60 synthetic oils ??

It's not size (pressure) that matters, but for the V8, it's the "quantity".

I had the oils seals replaced around the sump and main bearing and it improved idle pressure noticeably.

I thought it was the flow rate that was important with these engines rather than high pressure. 10-15psi at tick over is normal, but senders and gauges do vary.

Agree the senders do go high resistance, giving low readings. Also, what do you see the guage go to before starting ? Mine would read minus 15, a resistor across it and it reads zero before starting and reads higher of course, not over 55 which i believe is the pressure that the valve opens ?
