This is probably a daft question but.....

Not having to have a bike MOT before - I assume that I can't just take it along to the same place that does my car and it has to go to a bike-equiped test centre or am I talking rubbish?

If not can anyone recommend a good place to get a bike MOT in the Poole area?

Thanks

T - I live in Poole. Although in theory any MOT centre could do a bike you are best off organising it through a bike dealer who do specific Bike MOT's I would have thought! Probably best to go to garage that sells your make of bike. My dealer is HondaBournemouth and they have a dedicated MOT section - are half way between B'Mouth and Poole 01202 541220!

Thanks guys. U-Drive seem to come highly recommended but are fully booked out. Honda Bournemouth isn't too far away (if it's the one in Wallisdown) so will give them a go.

If all you want is an MOT, then any bike place can do it. I use a little local bike shop to MOT my bikes, but would never get the Duke serviced there as they tend to work on the older stuff mostly. Look in Yellow Pages and just find a close, small bike workshop. You'll probably find they aren't so booked up either.

Unfortunately that's not quite the case. The small local place that does my usual bike servicing doesn't do MOT's. They recommended UDrive but I thought that a second opinion might be worthwhile. The local garage that does my car servicing and MOTs doesn't do bike MOTs so that was a non-starter too.

All sorted now though. Just hope it passes on Saturday.
