Made the classic mistake of failing to heed my own advice, but got away with it.

On Saturday I popped into Lamborghini Birmingham and then on to the Mailbox. I was agonizing over whether "Larry" would be safe through the entrance of the Mailbox's multistorey when, out of nowhere, another Gallardo (Arrancio) came hurtling around the corner and into the entrance without a care.

I figured if it was safe for him, I'd be fine. But by the time I got through the barrier he'd vanished, and was left to CAREFULLY worm my way through the pillars and kerbs on my own. At least the kerbs are chamferred, so wheels won't get a knock. Still nerve wracking though, and a rare example of me NOT knackering my wheels.

Someone even left a note saying they wanted the little fella for a film they were doing... which was nice.

I stand by my previous advice. DO NOT USE MULTI-STOREYS.

Unlike for my girlfriend who last Thursday re-shaped the back door on the rr getting out of a car park. I asked how could she have done it as we use this car park everyday and the exit is massive. I said all you had to do was use the wing mirrors to see when you go round the wall how close you are, to which she replied " I couldnt see out of the wing mirror and i was going to adjust it once i got out of the car park " mad

I made the mistake of taking a testarossa into a multi storey only to find the down ramp was steeper than the up ramp.

The testarossa has a long front overhang which meant it was impossible to get down to the ground level using the normal exit.

The result was that a lot of cars had to reverse up the down ramp to allow me to reverse out the way i came in.Not easy as a testarossa does not have power steering and has a crap turning circle.

My wife refused to go in the car after this episode !

Mike, well don't go anywhere near the one by the Bull Ring!!! Not the new one that's connected, it's an oldie round the corner that must have been built way back when Daimler had his first wank!! Had the pleasure of ruining two freshly sorted rims on the 360 in that one

MS car-parks deffo a no go.
I had 4 freshly repaired alloys done on my 996TT a few months ago. 2 days after they were done I made the mistake of going into the Friary car-park in Guildford & kerbed the back 2 (easy to do if not concentrating as the back is wider than the front so easy to misjudge.

At least on the hotter 911's (GT2/3 Turbo etc) most have plastic lower lips that can be replaced at minimal cost when they get scraped.

The train station one is worse!

The Friary one is pretty poor, though.

No Phil. Was it a Giallo Midas one like mine? Or Arrancio?

Not being up on the colour names, I couldnt say - but it was a slightly pearlesant/metallic yellow. Seen it around to the north of Birmingham on several occasions.

The BBC's new headquarters are in the Mailbox, it may have been from one of their team?

Nice alloys and multi story car parks are a no go.
I discovered this in Brighton, where if you don't use a multi story, you won't find a space anywhere else.

Use the NCP car parks just to the East of the Railway Station.

Multi stories are quite doable in a 360 once you get used to it. Have to say I kerbed several wheels in the learning process but since I had no choice I had to do it.

There are a fair few nasty ones though, I remember pivoting on one of the ramps up to a new level with the rear wheels up in the air just slightly in the Cerb when the gearbox guard got caught - NOT FUN!
