Tuscan / griff/ chim. Diffs

Ive noticed a couple of Diffs off tuscan race cars for sale and they look just like a GKN . type diff thats fitted to my Griff . Was wondering if these are indeed the same type one has a 3.7 ratio and the other a 3.3 anyone know A would they be a straight swap and B which would be the correct Ratio , or closest to a Griff 500 93 pre serp. If you get under your car and clean around the diff casing you should find an aluminium tag pinched under one of the casing bolts with the ratio stamped on it. Mine took a lot of cleaning to make out what it said.

Hi,

I believe the Tuscan racers, early Griff and Chimps have the same GKN diff. When I replaced my GKN diff both had a tag indicating 3.31 ratio.

Would it be possible to club together to buy a few spares ~ as & when they could be picked up cheap? Dont know how it would work...

Thanks for that OZ didnt win it went over my price limit on E bay , Was just trying to get a Diff to keep as a spare, mines okay just thought if one comes up cheap buy it get it refurbed no worrys.

I had to change my diff out because it stripped a couple of teath off the pinion gear. No original spares remain, otherwise they can be overhauled with aftermarket bearings etc.

Ive been offererd a 'couple' of GKN diff's from a local axle specialist. I took my diff to be overhauled and when chatting to one of the guys who work there, was told he had a few new GKN diffs and would i be interested in buying them!!! I declined as mine is fine but if anyone is interested i can get some more info??
