Uprated Brake Discs?

Was wondering where i could order a set of drilled/grooved brake discs for my Cerby 4.2, can't find anything on the net,

I`ve been told the drilled ones are prone to cracking.

I am not sure that the disks cracking is a regular occurence. Trackcars upgraded disks certainly dont crack. The 'Tuscan' ones apparently do. I have not seen it myself but I guess it probaby only happens with hard track days. So I wouldnt worry about it unless you want to do lots of track work.

Wont be doing any track days just want better brakes for normal use, also they look cool!

I have a set of rear discs in drilled, but only because that's all you can get from TVR (if you can even get those now ...) I would never put drilled discs on the front unless absolutely the last resort though, the tvr drilled discs crack even in road use Plain or grooved is the way to go

Julian - how often have you seen them crack? I havent seen it and so assumed it wasnt common.

I don't think anyone is saying that, just ask your own indy/garage what they can do, baring in mind drilled disc's shortfalls.

I don't know - but it's always worth looking. I'm sure the OP wasn't trying to offend Mars, it's just common sense to have a shop round IMO.

Besides, i'm sure you can get custom ones made up

there is a company called compbrake ltd who i have spoken to and if you send your disc they will copy it in a seperate disc and bell groved or drilled for around £450.00 a pair ,www.compbrake.co.uk.

I'd suggest talking to B G Developments as a possible supplier of a non-standard setup.

Standard discs are okay, abit sqeeky with new pads, but grooved/ drilled always look better and are much better at cooling.

Offended? Me? Crikey you'd have to pillage my village and steal all our women before you can offend me. Actually that's not right. Rather you did that than support vehicle tracking.

That said, I'm an irritable bugger sometimes so best ignore most things I say.

I confess that before I bought mine, I had considered a brake upgrade on the premise that if people (one person ) are offering them, then there must be a reason. How surprised I was the first time I tried some serious braking and had to peel my face off the steering wheel. The standard 4.5 brakes (don't know if they're different for other engines) are simply quite awesome.
