Erm... do you mean the "I'm locked" light? If so, you could always try just leaving the doors unlocked...

Mine's a little erratic too, although I've not noticed it recently.

Always on when the doors are locked from the inside, but sometimes on when the headlights are on and the doors aren't locked. Strange.

think, unlcoked, diplay, somehwere,"but fruedian that"-i reckon theres a touch of the stanley unwins going on hereim crying as i type this

have you pressed the light itself to see if it switches off? on my chim this was how you locked the doors when shut from the inside, and the light went on when locked and off when not.

I thought that light came on when you manually central-locked the car from inside by pressing it? Press it again and the c/l disengages and lamp goes out. I say thought because it don't work on mine (lamp or c/l)!

have tried pressing whilst driving, stays green, but havnt tried it when stopped, might stay locked when driving for safety!!!?? seem to remember the cerbera doing something along those lines, over a certian speed the doors locked them selves,or maybe thinking of another car...

doesnt say anything in the manual though...

Can't really comment on what they're supposed to do, but the light is out on mine by default. When you press it, there's a clunk from the door locks, the top of the knob turns into a little green lighthouse and the under-mirror buttons stop working. When I turn the door opening knob the door locks clunk again, the door flies open and the light goes out.

Never tried pressing it when the light's already on. And I try not to turn the door opener when I'm travelling at speed, so I can't comment on the auto-locking concept :-)

PS: I think that the unlock is triggered by the door sensors, because sometimes it wouldn't unlock properly before I cleaned the contacts.

I'm wondering if i lean on it when i drive, hence it being green , and then it can only be deattivated when i open the doors , by which time the engine amd all lights are usually off anyway. will have to have a play around tonight.( with the knob.....in the car....)

thnx...

I think PhilC is cock-on as to what is supposed to happen. It is possible that you have "anti-hijack" feature (sometimes an option with an aftermarket alarm system) which c/locks the doors once you get rolling but you would hear it. And the light would go from off to on so you would probably notice that too.

Just out of interest (as it may be related) does your interior courtesey light work properly? Mine is permanently on in either direction to the central "off".

interior light seems to work just fine, and thinking about she does have an upgraded alarm fitted, closes the windows etc when activated ( although glacial is probably a little too swift for the action, almost imperceptible to the naked eye, some sort of time laps photography would be needed to confirm any movement at......sorry rambling) so could well be an anti hijack feature as well...havnt noticed it flashing , but then again i havnt driven it that much at night... yet..but luckily I live near an old railway line with has many , albeit short, tunnels to weave through on the way to work.

PhillipC is right about the way the light in the middle of the door button is meant to work, so if it is lighting up by itself it's probably either your upgraded alarm, (though I haven't heard of this feature on a Chimaera alarm before), or your elbow - I've certainly set it by accident before.

As to the flaky alarm setting, you say the battery is new, how about the battery in your remote? Might be worth replacing that.
