Be gentle with me, this is my first post. And apologies if anyone has already mentioned this 'burning' topic. Did I miss the update to the Highway Code that said: "If you're driving along at 90mph in your white van and decide that you need to buy a copy of the Daily Star, simply stick on your hazard warning lights and veer sharply across the road."

FFS what's wrong with using the incredible new technology that, I believe comes fitted to most vehicles nowadays, 'so-called' indicators. Or did I miss the Government funded brain implant that makes all road uses psychic.

Blimey, that was quite dull for a first post wasn't it?

I thought hazards are only for use whilst you're blocking the rest of the road whilst popping into the shops or waiting for someone

That said, I think if you're on your phone while using your hazards, then you're not breaking the law.

The one that really gets me, is the parent parking on the school zig-zags with 'special dispensation hazards' blinking merrily away. The fact that they know they are creating a hazard by activating the hazard lights, but still do it. rage

I see lots of unthinking drivers do this all the time - instead of indicating left to pull over they hit the hazards and leave you guessing what they're about to do. Similar to those who use fog lights on motorways in light fog even though I can see five cars past them, so why can't they work that out?

What about those idiots that park up at the side of the road in a perfectly legitimate place to park, maybe in front of other parked vehicles, they bang the hazards on, or other vehicles pull up and then park behind them. You then come along, all you can see is the o's indicator, so you slow, or even stop and flash them out thinking they want to rejoin the traffic. Then you realise the vehicle doesnt have a driver and aint about to move banghead

I feckin' hate that. You dont need hazards to stop where it's perfectly OK to stop you tts!
