Engine Swap

I know I've asked many, many questions about engines, but have come across something which seems quite interesting and was wondering if it would work. Quite local to me is a 2.2 litre Lotus engine (slant 4) on twin dellorto carbs out of an Elite and having spoken to the guy, it looks like 180BHP for not a huge amount of money. That gives me about an r350. Yummy!!

Anybody know if it would go in or should I go back to my dark corner and keep dreaming?

Basics to check would be:
Height/Width - will it fit under the bonnet and arund the chassis rails and steering column?
Gearbox - do you need a custom bellhousing to fit it to the 7 gearbox (Ford Type 9)?

Also, what's the weight? Remember the K-Series is light for its power.

Its local, so I will go an check dimensions etc. Its got a Supra box, so I would need a different bellhousing and I don't know if such things exist?

Saying all this though, I am also talking to:

1) A guy who has a Eu2 (143bhp) VVC engine, PTP throttle bodies and emerald (all matching and apparently ready to plug in) for the same money
2) A guy who has a 135bhp 1.6 Supersport engine up for sensible money on Blatchat

And!!

An R300 engine and drivetrain might become available according to another thread (see CC part ex prices) - but I think that may be out of budget

Its a bit of a land of confusion I am living in at the moment (nowt new there tho!)
