Hi, does anyone know if there is a fuse that is dedicated to the boot opening switch. I have the badge operated sort. When pushed there is no electric noise so I am assuming that either the contacts are dirty or maybe a blown fuse. The manual does not show a dedicated one. I have tried the secret way in but without giving too much away I was reluctant to persue this method.I have also tried WD40 behind the badge to no avail.
Any help gratefully received.

Try electrical contact cleaner (from halfrauds or any other auto factor, should be more effective.
i had one of the wires come astray, on the tuscan 1 there are some covers in the boot, that when removed allow you to get to the switch wiring. not sure if its the same on the later tuscans.

Hey Di, what made me think you had sold up?
I had loads of problems with the boot switch but the secret way always worked. So i was wondering if this means that its not an electrical problem, but perhaps a disconnected wire?
Have you done the secret way before? If not i can email you.....
Good luck!!

Was going to sell but in the end common sense prevailed and now just have to sell my body to raise cash. Gonna be a bloody long wait
Yes I have got in before on my MK1. Cant seem to locate on this one. Not without a lot of grief.

Thanks for tips Custard. Should have said that I cant actually open the boot to get to wiring or contacts. And the secret way isnt working for me !!!. All other doors and windows are fine.

Try the internal passenger door button. By operating this I find it re-sets the ecu in the passenger mirror which also controls the boot release. This has been on-going in my car for 18 months now- usually after being left idle for a while, and nevers fails to work.. Hope this helps.

Thanks John, yes the car has been idle and the passenger seat not used for a while. I have a furled central knob which does both and not individual buttons but perhaps principal the same. Will try when I get home.

Hi Lady Topaz
Sorry to hear about your boot woes BUT delighted that one of The PH Legends is back - sorry you couldn't sell your early Tuscan 2 - I was sure your car would sell easily - is the market really that flat at the moment?
Anyway welcome PHome!

Why thank you Rob. To be honest didnt try too hard to sell. Love the car and was never going to just give it away. Now back to the usual wonderful quirks thank God.
