Hi there,

Not sure if this has been asked before but... I've been reading your posts for months and am still bemused why you write perfectly normal English except for 'ist' and 'und'. And people are 'liebchens' a lot.

It's perfectly understandable, mind you, but I was just wondering why...

Perfectly readable, my arse I skip right over the gibberish, have done for months. In fact, is there a killfile option here so I don't even have to see it?

All part of the multicultural palette here on PH. I love the posts and it adds personality to them. All us regulars know and enjoy the postings and see them as speaking with an accent. INternet life would suck if we conformed with perfect grammar and punktualityation.

Ignore the killjoys und keep on posting!!

I do too. I wish whoever they are that they would stop the childish, fake German accent as I think their contribution to this forum would be valuable.

Apologies if the aforementioned person really is German hehe

That would be quite useful

Very true, just by reading them you know the poster was WC.

(A bit like Vixpy and the knob gags!)

Bloody hilarious she is, and for those miserable gits who don't approve of the lovely lady ,

May I suggest you visualise the Police Inspector with the mechanical arm from " Young Frankenstein" next time you read her thoughtful posts. Works a treat for me.

Not that she cares.....but I too always skip any of these posts, I find the "ists" and "unds" tiring when one is trying to speed read loads of posts.

The ists and unds bother me not at all, the fact that I don't believe the lass has ever managed to find an acceptable definition of 'concise' is more of a burden.

rolleyes

I am Swiss. From a place called Wildhaus (rofl WILD HOUSE und our most famous son was Zwingli .. a rebel of his day laugh This area ist in Kanton Appenzell.. We are the main ski resort there too along with Alt St Johann. The Toggenburg area... ist for the serious skier und hiker

Mama ist actually from Yorkshire.. but am the youngest of a large family. They tended to talk in our own lingo. So.. where the older ones had my Mama "immersing them in Yorkshire twang".. I more or less miss out on this because of "busy busy family". I also took greatest dislike to the English teacher at school. We just did not "hit it off". rolleyes This was probably down to my chatting with feet on desk at the back of class und endless detentions over it hehe .. und general sassing back at her.

I never ever managed to spell little words properly. Have allegedly high IQ by the way..

All this really mean ist that I can solve "conventional" logic puzzles geared to my own education und culture .. It does not mean skilled in everything.. und given I once spent hours marooned in the Klo with foot stuck in S bend because I was stupid enough to try to hang curtains by standing on loo without seat cover attached und ended up miawing for hours with foot stuck in the S bend .. ist testament of crass lack of brain cell there rolleyes Then tehre was time I did not bake cake long enough.. iced it.. und it was gooey in middle. rolleyes (I then removed all icing.. baked it properly.. served to Mama-in-law who declared I had "makings of a House Wife" in appreciation of this cake which had "matured by accident of chemical reactions of rich fruit, almonds und lots of brandy" hehe ist also evidence of some "daftness" There are other scrapes .. which more or less show my "wild side" rofl

I used to use a spell checker.. but found it rather disturbing - I had to correct far too many words. By the time I had done this.. the topic had moved on.. und the point "lost in translation"

Besides .. I actually sound in the flesh like this .. so am told. Have very distinctive voice und accent. Some of the posters on here who have met me in flesh .. comment that ist like am chatting to them

The Mad Doc und the kittens have put biggest poster in my study here .. which has "correct" spelling Liebchen.. it make no difference.

When pregnant with the last kitten.. I kept typing "mit" for with. I put this down to the gherkin und chocolate sandwiches I had a hankering for at the time. I cannot understand why. I tried them since .. und hurl I know now why Mad Doc used to leave room when I ate these. I think he thought I would explode rofl

I have to say I only managed to read about a tenth of that before I switched off because life's too short. Which is a shame because from what I've seen we have similar views about a lot of things, but it's just too much like hard work to wade through. Sorry.
