No it's not the 1st time i have reinstalled windows but this time i left the spare IDE drive connected and i accidentally formatted it because windows prompted me.Why didn't windows recognized the D drive , no idea, perhaps it's due to me putting the jumpers on it to slave to work it with another drive. The drive letter is still D as before so no change there.
Anywhoo, I buggered up the drive now and funnily enough it had my backup file to restore all previous settings , family pics , music etc...Duh!!! and I'll happily volunteer to be hanged Saddam style by any buddy billy bob monkhouse out there.

My question is how the heck to I recover that precious data? I tried these online recovery thingybobs and I don't make any sense of what they recover.

Any ideas?

Well one tools which should do the trick to recover your porn (I MEAN DATA ) is a program, called R-tools i have a NTFS and FAT version but oviusly that would be illegal to discuss HERE. The program is normaly good at retrieving data.

Pop me a message if u want more info

Download OnTrack's demo software, let it loose. If it all looks good then get out the credit card for the full 'working' version.

restorer2000 yes Download the trial copy, it'll show you what's currently on the disk. Once you're happy buy the full version for about £20 and enjoy
