I'm using Outloook 2003 and have three email accounts. If someone sends a msg to one of the accounts, when i reply it doesn't reply using either the account the msg was sent to or the default account but a different account.

My question is how does it decide which account to use when replying to msgs?, and can i make it use the account that the orig msg was sent to?

Help please, i'm getting extremely peed off and am thinking there must be a simple setting that i'm missing

In Outlook , when replying there is a button next to the send button called Accounts - it has a dropdown and will give you the option of replying from whatever account you have, I am assuming your smtp settings are correct for all three accounts - where you have the correct email address for the particular account .

The problem with using the dropdown is that the signature on each account is different, so if you change the account you still have the orig. (wrong) signature at the bottom. Surely when replying it should use the account to which the email was sent? Or am i being really thick?

Under tools - options - mail format you can set up different signatures for each account - never tried it myself but don't see why it wouldnt work.
