Excel & Tick marks

Hi,

I am trying to insert a tick mark into a cell in excel but can't work out how to do it. I know I've done it before, but can't for the life of me remember how. Any ideas?

the little red ones are added when you insert comment.

On a mac that's in the formatting palette (View Formatting palette), add objects.
