Got an '01 48k miles Forrester Turbo S and just rung up for a service appointment. Dealer mentioned that there is a 60k mile/4yr cambelt change needed. Car has been serviced by a local garage for last three years and therefore highly doubt that its been done. How much is a major service and belt change going to cost. Googled it and only price was from Grahm Goode and was a frankly horrifying £800 or so.

So- Macclesfield Subaru dealership, any guesses on price?? Need to know to prepare for wallet pummelling

Have asked them for a quote so may well ask if anyone thinks its reasonable

Indeed.

Feeling sore now. Bought car for £2k two months ago- bargain.

Hit branch in road two weeks ago after storm, bent suspension arm, bushes etc. so £500 bill.

Now £890 for a service including cambelt and laser aligning, costs more to run than the tiv!

ScoobyClinic in Chesterfield are a very highly rated independent on the Subaru boards (I haven't used them personally, being on the south coast).

They are in Chesterfield www.scoobyclinic.com/frameset.htm
