I've just been looking at it for the PC. What's the gameplay like, is it all in realtime (not turn based) and can you act as both Admiral in charge of the fleet or take control of a single ship whilst everything happens automatically?
Ps. I wish they would do Jutland, that I would buy in an instant.
Nice

Gameplay is all realtime, you can switch from a strategic map to realtime control of individual units so you use the map to give your various ships/sqaudrons orders and then you select the individual unit you wish to command. Its bloody good fun and hoping mine comes in the post today
A good example would be your in control of a one shipyard and one airfield...this means you can launch 2 ships (or a sub) and 3 flight squadrons, once you launched them all you would access the map and tell your sub to attack the enemy carrier then tell your battleship to head for enemy shipyard.
You then tell your 2x fighter squarons to engage incoming bombers and 1xdive bomber to attack the shipyard, when you sub nears the carrier you could switch to that to launch the torpedos then quickly switch to your dive bomber as it nears the shipyard to dodge flak etc...
pretty cool and a must if your into military history...i'm gonna watch tora tora tora and play this after! (if your a jap you even get points for kamakazing your aircraft!)
Got it today, quick go at the Fuso Battleship mission (because I just had to, sunk 3 destroyers and a cruiser before trading blows with what looked like a british KGV battleship), then straight into a campaign. Not gone too far into it this evening as I know how much time can disappear when playing these games. But I've done Pearl Harbour in the PT boat, shot down a few aircraft and sunk the mini sub and also flown a P40 against attacking Zero's and even straffed the Kaga. Then defended the Phillipines in the PT boat, promoted to command a destoyer and just done the run though the channel, attacking the gun emplacements while fighting off Japanese PT boats before sinking the Japanese destroyer.
Ps. Just went back to the Fuso/Yamashiro single battle and just completed it. Took out destroyers, cruisers and 3 allied Battleships, the USS New York, HMS Repulse and that KGV again.
Here's me looking through the binoculars as I pummel Repluse (even though it's not Repulse it's the sister ship Renown and how it looked after it's 1930's rebuild
Repluse never got the rebuild)

Nothing wrong with it, it's only just been released as well so it's not being sold cheap because it isn't selling, Bargain I'd say or they have it priced wrong. Normal price is £29.99 (even from online places I think, although I think I saw it for £17 as a pre-release order).
Before I got it I read reviews and they were all very favourable giving it high marks.

Quick Fraps captured video (5.78mb WMV) of the second Naval Single mission, commanding a Japanese Cruiser force sent out to attack a US Battlegroup.
Shows how you constantly need to be on your guard, checking the targets out through my binoculars and checking fire I just spot torpedo tracks, avoid them but run into some others at the end. I could assign men to fix the flooding and carry on though. But just did this as a quick mission.

Ps. For some reason it didn't capture the sound......

Really good game, found the multiplayer mission where you can command the Yamato battleship AKA "dear lord that is a big mother of a ship!", absolute beast anything that gets in range of those massive guns is pretty much getting lunched, it seemed to be lacking AA weaponry though, I was trying to hold off relentless waves of torpedo bombers with a machine gun but I guess my flak could have been knocked out.

Did you know that the US force sent to sink the Yamato in April 1945 was a lot bigger than the whole Japanese Pearl Harbour strike force - it took many torpedoes and multiple bomb hits before it succumbed, having never fired a single 18” salvo at an enemy battleship!
I may get this game, looks fun!

I can imagine!, even on the game this thing was taking torpedo hits like it was no problem

Can you imagine how much punishment something that big and heavily armoured (bigger than the Bismark and the Hood) would have to take to end up looking like this.
Wreck site model
Ps. Yamato was sent out on a suicide mission in April 1945 with only a handful of destroyers was spotted, caught and sunk after being hit by between 11-15 torpedoes and at least seven bombs. Her sister ship the Musashi (sunk in 1944 at Leyte Gulf) too between 11-19 torpedoes and at least 17 direct bombs hits before going under. The 3rd ship of the class Shinano was completed as a carrier but was sunk by 6 torpedoes from a US Submarine during it's trials in 1944. And the 4th ship of the class hull 111 was abandoned in 1942.
Japan was designing even bigger ships armed with 20" guns but they never got beyond the planning stages.

This looks interesting
I've got a 1:350 model of the Yamato on my mantle piece, being a bit of a Battleship fan
There was a Japanese film about the Yamato made recently, not seen it though. They actually built a 1:1 replica of much of the superstructure for the film www.oshipee.com/omami/e-photo-yama
