Sister borrowed my laptop when she visited last year, ever since Windows Messenger keeps signing her in on my laptop, as i have no interest in using messenger is there any way i can un-install it or diasble it, tried logging out but it just logs in a few days later.

Right click the MSN icon in the taskbar icon area and select Sign Out, then click the blue "forget me" link next to the remember me tickbox. Will stop signing in. Removing msn is a pain in teh arse and not really worth the bother.

Question. Do you mean Live (aka MSN) or the little version that comes with XP?

The former just do as above. or Add/Remove Programs and uninstall it.

The latter:
Open it, go to Properties (might be in options).
Untick the options that fire it up when Windows starts and run when minimized.
Click Ok.
Quit.

It will never bother you again.

If it's XP (as I know it works with that)

Click the start menu button choose "run" then type in MSCONFIG in the popup box and hit return. This will open the systems configuration utility, go to the startup tab along the top of it and un-check "msmsgs" and "msnmsgr" in the list (one is MSN the other is windows messenger, both need to be stopped) then reboot, MSN Messenger will not be run on startup.

Robert will then be your fathers brother. If you ever need it again as the Haynes manuals always say fitting is the opposite of removal (and easier than reinstalling it).
