ive got the tuscan 2 for the weekends and the missus has a nice audi a4, the suzuki bandit is going, and now ive got to chose a new company car to blatt around in!!

1st choice is an audi a3 19tdi sportback, quite a low spec with 132 co2 and monthly tax of about £89.00 and ill have to wait about 12 weeks for delivery.

2nd choice is a honda 18i v-tec with leather, co2 152 and monthly tax about £82.00, again about 12 weeks wait.

3rd choice is a seat ibiza 1.9 tdi fr 3dr. co2 143 and monthly tax about £70.00 ( in yellow )

now, i might be up for a battering for this but despite being 34 years old, im really hankering for the seat!!!

any suggestions?

i have had a HONDA Accord as my company car over the last 3 years and nearly 100,000 mile without any problems at all. we also have a civic on the fleet which has been great as well. Cannot fault Honda at all.

SEAT or Audi, but seeing as the SEAT's are decent cars and its cheap Id go for that

if you say SEAT with a little slur, people might think you have a SEAC as a company car hehe

I had an Audi A4 FSI, it gave a nice drive but had loads of problems. Now in X-type which is a classier car but a little less interesting to drive.

I keep them for 3 years/ 75k then renew, although I had problems with the Audi it was more fun to drive.

I think go for the car that is fun to drive and forget build quality and snobbery!

There is a big misconception with VAG products , the quality is nothing like it once was you pay for the badge .If you want a smallish diesel quick and cheap / like half the price of a Audi , try a Mitsubishi colt 1.5 . You may laugh but go and try a 5 door fist, very clever rear seating / boot / 3 cyl sounds great/disc all round /handle very well/55mpg all day/ quick . We have had three petrol and diesel over the last few months and not one problem. All these factors depend on if it the car dynamics your are interested in or badge or looks. There are some many cars now go and look at plenty . The Suzuki swift is also good and as the Top Gear team said the other day better than a new Mini even on looks , oh and about half the price .
Lets put it another way all those you mentioned frequent this driveway and so the others i mentioned . Small cars are now not so small and very competent all round , bigger cars request quite a premium for not a lot of gain.

My daily driver is an A4 FSI but my experience is poles apart - never a problem, reliable, economical, comfortable, etc. (touch wood), but dull as ditch water.
It goes to show; horses for courses, each to their own, etc. confused

Go for the Audi...you know it makes sense.
Any news on the bike? Did they catch the (w)anchors?

We just bought a Honda Civic with the 1.8 i-VTEC. Very impressed with it - felt much better to drive than the Leon, Golf, Focus and Audi that we test drove...

brent

the cctv evidence wasnt enough to get an id im afraid, and the bike still has to live on the drive, hence the selling of!, but i still have a glimmer of hope with the 'local' knowledge of some people in the village... we shall see

and im afraid its the YELLOW SEAT that won the day, just a bit of fun during the week was what i was looking for and the seat ticked the boxes!
( and its yellow)
