Ive managed to get hold of some 16" rear wheels to go on the front of my 97 450. After going through some of the older threads i see that 225 is the direction to go but what depth?....40, 45, 50 ive also got P/steering.
cheers

only my cents worth,i have 205/50 16" up front, i dont beleive this car can use 225 rubber at the front,i certainly have found no problems with grip, even when pushing.similar rolling radius too.

Me too. Seem to do the job. Non power steering so didn't want to go wider.

i think 225 at the front looks weird, tyre profile to high and too fat,i have PAS but i made the right choice in tyre.

I found this very useful in the past for deciding what size tyres.

Hi Meatball. I fitted 16" fronts to my Chim recently - the tyres you have chosen should be fine but you need to be careful as the wheels are likely to foul the wishbones on full lock! Factory Chims with these wheels had the steering lock reduced by fitting washers to the steering rack. No one has any in stock - I've had some on order from TVR Car Parts for some time... I have cured the problem by fitting 5mm spacers - however tyres now rub bodywork, but only because I've gone for 225/50/16s... Good luck!

225/45ZR16 on front here, with PAS, rack stops required to stop fouling.
